Most of today’s youth are focusing and following the path of spiritual line. For which the films such as Annamayya, Sri Manjunatha and Sri Ramadasu are the proof which were made super duper hits says the veteran director K Raghavendra Rao. By the same spirit now he is involved in making a film PANDURANGADU with Yuvaratna Nandamuri Balakrishna. Recently the script was kept near the foot of God Sri Ramachandra near the holy place of Badrachalam and performed prayers. In this connection, K Raghavendra Rao expressed his views with press. The following are
Now days you are involved in making only spiritual movies. Is there any restrictions?
When I made a film Annamayya many of the well wishers kept finger on there nose. There were some people who expressed their unhappy and said such films will get flop. However, everybody knows how those movies were become super hits and impressed the entire audience. After the film Sri Ramadasu I came to know through one of the survey that there was tremendous development on spiritual out look among the people, particularly in youth. Not only in our country, but in foreign countries also there was great encouragement about the songs of these films. Whatever the encouragement accorded by the youth, the same thing itself created a lot of self-confidence in me.
What is the secret behind your success about these films?
There is no secrecy. The story is old. However, the picturization is new.
Is there any special reason to select Balakrishna in the film Pandurangadu?
I have made the films Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu with Akkineni Nagarjuna. Similarly film Manjunatha with megastar Chiranjeevi. Now whatever the film I going to make is once acted by the late NTR Panduranga Mahatyam. Now I thought to make the same film with his son Balakrishna. Moreover he is having experience acting in mythological films also.
What are the details of this film?
There will be 12 songs in this film tuned by Keeravani. Further, the duel role playing by Balakrishna is also will be highlight for the film. K Viswanath is playing a special role. Moreover the film is making with huge budget. Similarly the sets also are going to built in the same spirit without any compromise. The work is going on in three studios.
What message you are going to give through Pandurangadu?
If I go on give message, nobody will see the film. Further, such days has been gone for ever. If any old picture comes in the TV Channel, immediately the people are changing the channels now days. However, the story is old, but we observed and made survey about the story of Pandurangadu which we found many of new things. Hence, we are inculcating such new things and trying to make the film to attract the audience.

Trivikram praises Mahesh Babu
Mahesh Babu starrer Athidi had an opening day collection of Rs 6,14,95,876. And critics who said that this was just an opening day craze were silenced when the film grossed massive Rs 16,72,58,868 on its fourth day. Trade gurus then went on to claim that any film would usually do well around the Dasara vacations, and that Athidi was no exception. But director Trivikram praises Mahesh Babu for his stardom and his attitude towards his films.
Tollywood has developed a certain set of rules since NTR’s time. Everything is very loud here. Loud fights, loud dialogues, loud romances. But Mahesh Babu is completely different. He followed his own set of rules, right from day one. He never compromised. He’s ready to experiment and has tons of patience. Even the film Athidi is not being watched for anything else but Mahesh Babu. Not many people in Indian cinema could achieve this kind of a craze in such little time," said Trivikram
