Annapurna Studios has today entered into the television terrain by producing a new and fresh TV serial named YUVA, a light hearted comedy entertainer. Akkineni Nagarjuna, Managing director of Annapurna Studios and partner with MAA Television, addressed a press conference in Hyderabad. "Yuva is going to change the trend in the television world by its new approach and elevation. The production house was into every details right from the designing of exclusive sets. Intelligent screenplay, quality and efficiency are the buzz words of the production," he said. Yuva will be telecast on MAA TV from December 1 st. (to continue on weekends – Saturday & Sunday).
The star cast of YUVA consists of Rashmi, Krishnudu, Vasu, Karuna, Vishwa and Monali. "Our main objective in introducing this serial is for a change. I see that almost all the serials are filled with crying and shouting. I thought – Let there be a youthful change. So, I am into it immediately. Whether the serial clicks or not, I have extremely glad to start this serial with all confidence," Nag said.
Answering to questions from the media, Nag said: "We planned the serial 9 months ago, even before the start and release of Sekhar Kammula's Happy Days. Of course, I honestly feel that success of Happy Days enhanced our confidence levels that our serial which more or less falls under that category is going to be a big hit in the coming days."
Ms. Sabhina is making her debut as director with Yuva. She had earlier worked under ace director K. Raghavendra Rao and hotshot director SS Rajamouli. Mr. Ravindra is the art director, who earlier worked with films like Aithe, Chatrapati and Vikramarkudu. The title song was composed by Mickey J. Mayors (music director of Happy Days). This youthful entertainer has even the presence of SS Rajamouli in a special appearance in one of the episodes. Accordingly, Nagarjuna maintained that celebrities would be coming up on the programme from time to time in the coming days. At present, content is readied for about 100 episodes.
Mr. Sarath Marar, CEO, MAA TV, said: "We are extremely pleased to air YUVA in our channel at our prime slot on weekends as it will definitely help us to provide quality viewing to our audience."
Earlier, a promo was screened to the media, with voice over by popular comedian Sunil. The star cast gave a ramp performance on the stage flanked by LCD screens.
Akkineni Amala, K. Raghavendra Rao, Gunnam Gangaraju couple, Ramyakrishna, Sumanth, Allu Arvind were present.
